TPO is a thermoplastic roofing system where the seams are heat-welded and
form a homogeneous bond by fusing the top and bottom sheets together. The
seams then can actually grow stronger than the membrane itself. The TPO is
durable and resistant to
degradation from ultraviolet radiation, ozone and chemical exposure. This
system is energy-efficient because its white reflective services can reduce
a building's cooling requirements by reflecting the sun's radiant energy.

Carlisle SynTec has been manufacturing single-ply roofing
systems and products primarily for commercial and
industrial roofing applications for more than 40 years. To
date, Carlisle has produced over 10 billion square feet of
roofing membrane. Carlisle has manufacturing facilities in
Carlisle, Greenville, IL, Senatobia, MS and will be
opening another thermoplastics plant in Tooele, UT later
this year.
The EPDM membranes dominate
the single-ply portion of the rubber market and are
specified by most contracts and architects. This product
has been used in the United States since the early 1960s.
The characteristics that make EPDM one of the favorite
systems are its superior flexibility which can stretch to
over 300% beyond its original dimensions and its ability
to easily accommodate typical building movement. Black
EPDM weathers better than any other roofing membrane. EPDM
membrane installed as long as 20 years ago has yet to show
significant deterioration due to weathering.
